Since 2009, James and J Y have been brewing and bottling OM Champagne Tea in Upper Westchester, New York.  Their current OM scobies date back to the first one purchased from the Amish farmers.

They first started drinking kombucha while living in the Santa Cruz mountains, and they brought their palate and passion to New York, where they settled to raise their five children, and to produce the most delicious and nutritious kombucha anywhere.  James eliminated a kidney stone, drinking kombucha in those early days, and the family drinks kombucha, now OM Champagne Tea, daily for hydration, for digestion, for health.  It is an integral part of their diet.

The chaga mushroom is actually a treasure trove of science-backed healing potential that’s been a prominent feature in folk medicine for thousands of years.

In the last 10-years, there have been over 4,600 scientific papers published on curcumin.  Many of these studies suggest that this compound could be useful in the prevention and treatment of a wide spectrum of medical conditions and physiologic processes (i.e. cancer, inflammatory diseases, cystic fibrosis, Alzheimer’s disease, etc.) 

Both turmeric and curcumin suppressed the growth of the implanted colorectal and pancreatic cancers however, the turmeric dose required to suppress growth was 1000% smaller than the cur cumin dose.


The journal Oncogene published the results of a study that evaluated several anti-inflammatory compounds and found that aspirin and ibuprofen, two of the most common NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are least effective, while curcumin is among the most effective anti-inflammatory compounds in the world.

While arthritis cannot be cured, it seems that a high dose of curcumin can be just as (or more) effective than at least the most common medication prescribed for the condition.

Although few studies have been conducted on humans, dozens of research trials have proven that turmeric benefits include being especially effective in reducing depression symptoms in laboratory animals. These results seem to be connected to the way curcumin impacts neurotransmitter function through the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).



In fact, although most herbs only treat one ailment, Korean red ginseng has so many applications for health that its scientific name is designated “Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer” — because the latin word “Panax” means, “a cure all.” The health effects of ginseng are most highly associated with ginseng root extracts from roots verified as having been grown for 6 years (when ginseng plants are fully mature).

Korean ginseng has been found to reduce blood levels of cholesterol and sugar in clinical studies. Hence, the herb may help in the treatment of high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes. 

Research has continuously supported the protective role of ginseng against anticancer drugs and treatments, and its ability to counter chemotherapy’s side effects. Besides, ginseng is used to prevent abuse and dependence on psycho-stimulants and opioids.
